About Adventure Parc, Dolgarrog
When the surf lagoon at Dolgarrog opened in 2015 as Surf Snowdonia, it was the first inland surf lagoon of its kind in Europe — a technology-driven wave pool in a Conwy Valley mountain setting that drew surfers from across the UK and inspired similar facilities worldwide. The site was rebranded Adventure Parc Snowdonia in 2019 as it added other activities.
The lagoon proved difficult to sustain. It closed in 2023; the wider site was briefly taken on by Zip World (as “Zip World Conwy”) before that too closed, and in 2025 the 40-acre site was acquired by the Interesting Hotels Group and reopened as an activity centre. The inland surf lagoon has not reopened.
Today the focus is on indoor and outdoor adventure rather than surfing: soft play for younger children, climbing walls, a ninja course and high-wire obstacle courses indoors, with outdoor activities in season, on-site camping pods and a café. Because the offering is still being developed under the new owners, it is worth checking the official website for the current activity list, opening days and prices before you travel.
